Description

Looking like a fairytale castle, Knockderry Country House Hotel is situated on the banks of Loch Long, one of the most magnificent sea lochs of Scotland.

Log fires, a loch-side location and castle architecture all contribute to the hotel’s considerable allure.

Family-owned and run, it is a beautiful spot in which to escape the rat race.

Cosy escape

The drawing room has magnificent woodcarvings and a cosy atmosphere.

During the colder months, it all makes for a wonderfully comfortable and relaxing environment in which to unwind after a day spent walking, sailing or exploring the local area.

h3. Various room types

There are three contemporary King rooms in the new wing. Each room has been decorated to reflect the colour palette of the surrounding countryside.

There is also a King room in the main house which has the benefit of a separate bath and walk-in shower. Furnished with king-sized beds, these rooms have views of the gardens.

The Master rooms in Knockderry are so called as they were originally the principal rooms of the old country house. Now stylishly refurbished, they provide the ultimate luxury.

There are four Master rooms in the hotel, each named after a loch. The Master rooms boast stunning views, roll top baths and walk in showers.

Guests in all rooms can look forward to ensuite bathroom facilities, luxury fabrics, flat screen plasma TV, crisp Egyptian cotton, coffee makers, sumptuous bathrobes and handmade, organic luxury toiletries by Ishgha.

Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the hotel including all bedrooms.

h3. Dining at Knockderry House Hotel

Dining is a major part of the experience of any stay at Knockderry House. The hotel has won a Thistle Award from Visit Scotland for the quality of its dining experience and was a Scottish Hotel awards winner for Breakfast and Fine Dining in 2018.

Dinner is served in the old wood-panelled dining room of the original house with its glorious stained glass and a charming outlook over Loch Long.

The kitchen uses only the finest seasonal, Scottish ingredients.

Butler’s Pantry

To ensure that guests have quick and easy access to a variety of little things that might be needed, there is a Butler’s Pantry on the first landing of the main house.

The pantry is well stocked with CDs and DVDs, ironing boards, irons, shoe cleaning kit, housewife/needle and thread as well as useful items like stationary and a clothes brush.
