No.12 Hotel & Bistro is a family-owned escape based in the pretty Victorian seaside town of North Berwick. No. 12 blends the cosiness of a bed & breakfast with all the comforts of a hotel and offers 11 recently refurbished guest rooms plus an intimate bistro.

All of the guest rooms at No.12 have enjoyed a recent makeover and been finished to a high standard with a contemporary feel. The decor is soft and neutral, with quirky Scottish touches like stag-themed cushions.

Each room has an ensuite bath or shower, plasma TV, free WiFi, hairdryer, phone and tea & coffee making facilities.

Bistro-style Scottish cuisine

The Bistro at No. 12 has a focus on Scottish produce and seafood, all served in a warm, welcoming, low-lit atmosphere with a crackling fireplace.

Sample dishes include fresh Scottish mussels with a choice of sauce; grilled sea bass with garlic & lemon butter, and North Berwick lobster.

Other choices include the prime Scottish beef chargrilled 10oz rib eye steak (dry-aged for 35 days); the linguine marinara and the pulled jackfruit five bean chilli, as well as a range of burgers, hot dogs, platters and light bites.

Great golf, beautiful beaches and more

East Lothian is a Mecca of the golfing world, with some twenty courses all within easy reach of the hotel. In fact, North Berwick itself boasts two magnificent courses.

You can also book a sailing lesson or fishing trip at the town harbour, walk part of the epic John Muir Way coastal hiking route and explore lovely beaches like Seacliff or Yellocraig.

Other attractions include the Scottish Seabird Centre, Tantallon Castle and North Berwick Law, a landmark hill with striking panoramas.
