This was definitely one, if not the best, Christmas dinner I’ve ever had. The food was cooked to perfection and the turkey and Christmas Pudding sundae deserve a special mention. The staff were all helpful warm and friendly. We plan to return soon.

Launched by veteran Glasgow restaurateur Alan Tomkins, Ralph & Finns is a sleek and gleaming 180-seater brasserie & bar on St. Vincent Place.
Housed in the former Scottish HQ of the Bank of England, there is a feeling of timeless elegance inside (partly thanks to award-winning designer, Mark Brunjes). Yet playful touches like the parrot wall art show that this dining spot doesn’t take itself too seriously either.
As well as a sweeping marble bar, guests can relax at a brasserie booth, in the lush Garden Room or in the Whisky Room, which stocks over 50 premium brands and special malts. A range of fine cocktails are also available, including Basil & Honey Daiquiri, Garden Negroni and Rhubarb & Custard.
Head Chef John-Paul Lappin promises classic dishes, bold flavours and an added international influence.
Highlights include the beef carpaccio starter with charred artichokes, pickled walnuts and peppered goat’s cheese, and a couple of retro classics with a contemporary twist, including the signature chicken Kiev with curry butter.
You can also dine on oysters from Cumbrae and supreme cuts of Scotch beef sourced from local farms, as well as vegetarian dishes such as the mushroom, goats’ cheese & romesco puff pastry tart. And of course, all dishes can be complemented by a range of premium wines.
The restaurant is right in the heart of Glasgow’s main shopping area and is just around the corner from George Square.
It is within easy reach of Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations, plus taxi ranks are nearby. Venues such as the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls & Old Fruitmarket are just a stroll away, as is the Gallery of Modern Art.
